Mint stamps

A set of special stamps on World Heritage in China depicting six World Heritage sites of exceptional scenic beauty and immense historical and cultural value will be issued on 25 November 2003 (Tuesday).

Information about associated philatelic products released with this issue and the sales restriction per queuing customer on the first day of issue on 25 November 2003 and subsequent days until stock lasts are as follows:

Postage prepaid picture card (Air mail) Six cards per set, each card depicting a World Heritage site $30.00 per set 5 sets
Serviced first day cover with a full set of 6 stamps Affixed with a full set of 6 stamps and cancelled by the special postmark (available at all philatelic offices on 25 November 2003 only) $20.60 per cover 5 covers

Remarks : The above philatelic products have been included in the 2003 Local Standing Order Service.

The stamps will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and Sha Tin Central Post Office from 4 November 2003. Official First Day Covers at HK$2 each will be put on sale at all post offices on the same day. During 4 to 25 November 2003, customers may bring their purchased Official First Day Cover bearing the initial issue date of 12 June 2003 to any post office for exchanging a new Official First Day Cover with issue date of 25 November 2003. Advance orders for servicing self-provided souvenir covers will be accepted at all post offices from 4 to 10 November 2003.

Hand-back service will be provided at all post offices on 25 November 2003 for official and privately-made covers bearing the first day of issue indication and a local address. Official First Day Covers bearing the initial issue date of 12 June 2003 are acceptable for handback service on 25 November 2003. A special postmark will be introduced and available for hand-back service at all post offices. The "GPO-1" postmark, "Philatelic Bureau" pictorial postmark and the philatelic office pictorial postmarks will also be available for hand-back service at all philatelic offices on that day.

In addition, the public hall of the Hongkong Post Philatelic Bureau on 1/F., Trade Square, 681 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon, will also open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for datestamping covers with the "Philatelic Bureau" pictorial postmark, the "GPO-1" postmark as well as the special postmark on 25 November 2003.
