Reprovisioning of Sau Mau Ping Post Office
A new Sau Mau Ping Post Office located at Shop 25, G/F, Sau Mau
Ping Shopping Centre, Sau Ming Road, Kwun Tong, will open at 9:30
a.m. on 22 December 2003 (Monday). This office will replace
the existing post office at Shop 1, Carpark Block Phase III, Sau
Mau Ping Estate, which will close after business on 20 December
2003 (Saturday). The business hours of the new office will be the
same as that of the existing one.
A HK$2 souvenir cover will be issued to commemorate the opening
of the new Sau Mau Ping Post office. It will be put on sale at the
General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office,
Sha Tin Central Post Office and Sau Mau Ping Post Office from 15
to 22 December 2003.
A special hand-back service will also be provided at the new Sau
Mau Ping Post Office on 22 December 2003, whereby official
and privately made unregistered covers with full postage prepaid
and bearing a "First Day" indication and a local address
will be accepted and impressed with the normal post office datestamp
at the counter and handed back to customers. To provide greater
convenience for philatelists, the normal post office datestamp of
the Sau Mau Ping Post Office will be reproduced for the provision
of hand-back service at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post
Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and Sha Tin Central Post Office on
22 December 2003. No special stamp will be issued for the new post
office opening.

ordered the "Datastamped Special Souvenir Cover - For Post
Office Openings and Reprovisionings", please note that
the souvenir covers of "Reprovisioning of Yau Tong Post
Office" and "Reprovisioning of Sau Mau Ping Post Office"
will be available for collection on 30 December 2003. |
