Reprovisioning of Queen's Road Post Office
The new Queen's Road Post Office located at Shop Nos. 2A and 2B,
Entrance Hall Floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central, will open
at 9:30 a.m. on 19 January 2004 (Monday) to replace the existing
post office at G/F, Wah Ying Cheong Central Building, 160-164 Queen's
Road Central, which will close after business on 17 January 2004
(Saturday). The business hours of the new office will be the same
as that of the existing one.
A HK$2 souvenir cover will be issued to commemorate the opening
of the new Queen's Road Post Office. It will be put on sale at the
General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office,
Sha Tin Central Post Office , Tuen Mun Central Post Office and Queen's
Road Post Office from 12 to 19 January 2004.
A special hand-back service will be provided at the new Queen's
Road Post Office on 19 January 2004 (Monday), whereby official and
privately made unregistered covers with full postage prepaid and
bearing a "First Day" indication and a local address will
be accepted and impressed with the normal post office datestamp
at the counter and handed back to customers. To provide greater
convenience for philatelists, the normal post office datestamp of
the Queen's Road Post Office will be also be reproduced for the
provision of hand-back service at the General Post Office, Tsim
Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post
Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office on 19 January 2004. No special
stamp will be issued for the new post office opening.
