A set of special stamps on Rugby Sevens will be issued on 25
February 2004 (Wednesday). This is a joint stamp issue between
Hongkong Post and New Zealand Post and is the fifth joint stamp
issue that Hongkong Post has organised with other postal administrations.
The stamps depict the Hong Kong's players in action in the 2002
Hong Kong Sevens ($1.4), the New Zealand's players in action in
the 2002 New Zealand Rugby Sevens ($2.4), as well as the Hong Kong
Stadium ($3.0) and the Wellington Stadium in New Zealand ($5.0).

The stamps will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha
Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and Sha Tin Central Post
Office from 4 February 2004. Official first day covers at
HK$1 each will be put on sale at all post offices on the same day.
Advance orders for servicing self-provided souvenir covers will
be accepted at all post offices from 4 to 10 February 2004.
Hand-back service will be provided at all post offices on 25
February 2004 for official and privately-made covers bearing
the first day of issue indication and a local address. A special
postmarks will also be introduced and available for hand-back service
at all post offices. The "GPO-1" postmark, "Philatelic
Bureau" pictorial postmark and the philatelic office pictorial
postmarks will also be available for hand-back service at 39 philatelic
offices on that day.
In addition, the public hall of the Hongkong Post Philatelic Bureau
on 1/F., Trade Square, 681 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon, will also
open on 25 February 2004 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for
datestamping covers with the "Philatelic Bureau" pictorial
postmark, the "GPO-1" postmark as well as special postmark
on that day.
