Opening of Kam Tai Post Office
Kam Tai Post Office, a new post office located at Shop No. 6, G/F,
Kam Tai Shopping Centre, Kam Tai Court, Ma On Shan, New Territories
will open for business at 11:00 a.m. on 27 February 2004 (Friday).
To commemorate the post office opening, a HK$2 souvenir cover will
be issued and put on sale at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui
Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office
and Tuen Mun Central Post Office from 20 to 27 February 2004
and at the new office on 27 February 2004.
A special hand-back service will be provided on 27 February 2004
at the new office, whereby official and privately made unregistered
covers with full postage prepaid and bearing a "First Day"
indication and a local address will be accepted and impressed with
the normal post office datestamp and handed back to the customer.
For the convenience of the philatelists, the normal post office
datestamp of the Kam Tai Post Office will be reproduced for the
provision of hand-back service at the General Post Office, Tsim
Sha Tsui Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post
Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office on 27 February 2004. No
special stamp will be issued for the new post office opening.

Remarks :
- For 2004 Local Standing Order Service customers who have successfully
ordered the "Datestamped Special Souvenir Cover - For Post
Office Openings and Reprovisionings ", please note that the
souvenir cover of "Opening of Kam Tai Post Office" will
be collected together with the "Children Stamps - My Favourite
Toys and Games" stamp products.
