Mainland Scenery Series No. 3: The Chen Clan Academy, Guangzhou

The third stamp sheetlet of the Mainland Scenery series will be
issued on 6 May 2004 (Thursday). This sheetlet depicts "The
Chen Clan Academy, Guangzhou" which is preserved as The Guangdong
Folk Art Museum. It is an architectural masterpiece of the 19th
century famed for the extraordinary and intricate traditional folk
art carvings. A new $10 stamp forming part of the sheetlet design
focuses on the ornamental doors of the Academy.

Remarks: The above philatelic products have been
included in the 2004 Local Standing Order Service.
The stamps will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha
Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and Sha Tin Central Post
Office from 15 April 2004. Official First Day Cover at HK$1
each will be put on sale at all post offices on the same day. Advance
order for servicing self-provided cover will be accepted at all
post offices from 15 to 21 April 2004.
Hand-back datestamping service will be provided at all post offices
on 6 May 2004 for official and privately-made covers bearing
the first day of issue indication and a local address. A special
postmark will also be introduced and available for hand-back service
at all post offices. The "GPO-1" postmark, "Philatelic
Bureau" pictorial postmark and the philatelic office pictorial
postmarks will also be available for hand-back datestamping service
at 39 philatelic offices on that day.
In addition, the public hall of the Hongkong Post Philatelic Bureau
on 1/F., Trade Square, 681 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon, will also
open on 6 May 2004 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for datestamping
covers with the "Philatelic Bureau" pictorial postmark,
the "GPO-1" postmark as well as special postmark on that
day.
