Update of 2005 Stamp Issuing Programme
The release date for "The 600th Anniversary of Zheng He's
Maritime Expeditions" is now confirmed for 28 June 2005. This
will become the fifth joint stamp issue of Hongkong Post, China
Post and Macao Post on a common theme. The three postal administrations
will each issue a set of three stamps in the form of a mini-pane
and one stamp sheetlet. The stamps of each postal administration
will depict three shared elements: a likeness of Zheng He; exploration,
trade and diplomacy; and seamanship and the science of navigation.
The stamp sheetlet will depict Zheng He's fleet of ships. The three
postal administrations will also jointly issue a souvenir pack containing
all three mini-panes and stamp sheetlets.
Also confirmed is the release date for the "Hong Kong Disneyland
Grand Opening" stamps, to be issued on 12 September 2005. This
will be the second set of Hong Kong Disneyland stamps. The previous
set was issued on 12 January 2003 to commemorate the groundbreaking
of Hong Kong Disneyland.
The release of the "Hong Kong, China - Portugal Joint Issue
on Fishing Villages" stamps will be brought forward, from 15
December to 18 October 2005. This will become the sixth joint stamp
issue by Hongkong Post with an overseas postal administration since
1999, promoting Hong Kong stamps and developing the philatelic market
abroad.
The issuing dates for the special stamp issues from March 2005
to December 2005 will be as below:-
