Exhibition for "The 6th Inter-School Stamp Exhibits Competition"
(24 - 28 March 2005)
To promote philately among students and to increase general interest
in stamp collecting, "The 6th Inter-School Stamp Exhibits Competition"
is organised by Hongkong Post, with support from the Education and
Manpower Bureau and the Hong Kong Museum of History as the co-organisers.
An exhibition of winning entries and other stamp exhibits submitted
will be held at the Special Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Museum
of History from 24 to 28 March 2005. The Exhibition is open
to the public, and pre-registered visiting groups could be exempted
from the HK$10 admission fee to the Museum. Interested groups, schools
and persons who wish to pre-register can call 2921 6025 or download
the pre-registration form from the Hongkong Post website at www.hongkongpoststamps.com
before 18 March 2005. The opening hours of the Exhibition are:
24 March 2005 (Thursday) : 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
25 to 28 March 2005 (Friday to Monday) : 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Apart from displaying the exhibits from participating students,
the exhibition will provide a wide range of activities including
photo sessions with Snoopy the Philatelic Ambassador, philatelic
workshops, guided tours, and displays of postal motorcycle, postal
bicycles and posting boxes.
To commemorate the event, Hongkong Post will issue a souvenir cover
and make available a special postmark on 24 March 2005. A cachet
will also be provided between 24 and 28 March 2005. Souvenir covers
will be available for sale at HK$2 each at 39 philatelic offices
from 10 to 24 March 2005. Serviced souvenir covers, at HK$5.9 each,
(affixed with a HK$1.4 definitive stamp, applied with the Cachet
and cancelled with the Special Postmark of 24 March 2005) will be
available for sale at 39 Philatelic Offices on 24 March 2005.
Hand-back datestamping service for official and privately made
covers bearing an indication of the event and a local address will
be provided on 24 March 2005. The arrangements are as follows:

Mark "Exhibition for Entries of the 6th Inter-School Stamp
Exhibits Competition" for your diary during Easter holidays!
The 6th Inter-School Stamp Exhibits Competition, organised by Hongkong
Post has reached its final stage. Entries with over 130 frames of
stamp exhibits have been reviewed by the Competition's judging panel
formed by representatives from Hongkong Post, Education & Manpower
Bureau, China Philatelic Association, Hong Kong Philatelic Society,
Police Philatelic Club and the Tsim Sha Tsui Philatelic Club.
An exhibition with displays of all entry exhibits and demonstration
exhibits from local philatelic associations and Guangdong Philately
Association will be available from 24 to 28 March 2005 at the Special
Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Museum of History. The exhibition
is open to public, visiting groups with pre-registration on or before
18 March 2005 will be exempted for the HK$10 admission fee
of the Hong Kong Museum of History#.
Group Visit
Any organisation would like to visit the exhibition in group and
enjoy the free admission, please register with the enrollment form
by completing sections A & B and fax to 2530 2618 on or before
18 March 2005. All enrollments will be handled on a first-come-first-serve
basis.
Youth Philatelic Tour (including philatelic workshop and guided
tour) - only valid for schools and youth centres
The "Youth Philatelic Tour" particularly designed for
schools and youth centres will be available during the exhibition.
Each "Youth Philatelic Tour" is packaged with philatelic
workshop and guided tour for the display of stamps exhibits. For
interested group, please complete the enclosed enrollment form (sections
A & C) and fax to 2530 2618 on or before 18 March 2005.
All enrollments will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis.
Other Activities:
Displays of postal motorcycle, bicycle and street posting box will
also be available at the exhibition venue. Besides, hand-back service
with special postmark (on 24 March 2005 only) and application of
cachet throughout the exhibition period will be arranged. Our Philatelic
Ambassador -- Snoopy™ will show up in every afternoon to meet
with the visitors and attend the photo-taking session. For details
