Stamp Sheetlet
A stamp sheetlet will be issued on 21 April 2005 (Thursday)
to commemorate Hongkong Post’s participation in the Pacific
Explorer 2005 World Stamp Expo in Australia. This international
stamp exhibition will be held in Sydney, Australia from 21
to 24 April 2005.
The stamp sheetlet is designed by Mr. Colin TILLYER and printed
in lithography by Banknote Corporation of America, Inc., USA.
This is the first stamp sheetlet bearing a new stamp specially
designed to match with the stamp sheetlet issued for Hongkong Post’s
participation in an overseas stamp exhibition.

The stamp sheetlet will be displayed at the General Post Office,
Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and Sha Tin Central
Post Office from 31 March 2005. Official First
Day Cover at HK$1 each will be put on sale at all post offices on
the same day. Advance orders for servicing self-provided souvenir
covers will be accepted at 39 philatelic offices from 31
March to 6 April 2005.
A special postmark and a cachet will also be introduced to commemorate
the event. Hand-back datestamping service for the special postmark
will be provided to official and privately-made covers bearing the
first day of issue indication and a local address at all post offices
and at the exhibition venue on 21 April 2005, the
opening day of the event. In addition, the “GPO-1” postmark,
the “Philatelic Bureau” pictorial postmark and the philatelic
office pictorial postmarks will also be available for providing
hand-back datestamping service at 39 philatelic offices on that
day. The cachet will be for application on covers at the exhibition
venue and 39 philatelic offices during normal office hours throughout
the exhibition period.
The public hall of the Hongkong Post Philatelic Bureau on 1/F.,
Trade Square, 681 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon, will be open on
21 April 2005 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for datestamping
covers with the “Philatelic Bureau” pictorial postmark,
the “GPO-1” postmark and the special postmark and application
of the cachet.
