The "88th Lions Clubs International Convention 2005" Official Souvenir Cover and Set-Up of a Temporary Post Office at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

Hongkong Post will issue a Souvenir Cover to commemorate the "88th Lions Clubs International Convention 2005" to be held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27 June to 1 July 2005. A special postmark will be made available on 27 June 2005. A souvenir pack issued by the "88th Lions Clubs International Convention 2005" Host Committee (The Host Committee) will be available for sale at the Temporary Post Office during the Convention period. Hongkong Post will support the event by setting up a Temporary Post Office at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Official Souvenir Cover

The "88th Lions Clubs International Convention 2005" Official Souvenir Covers will be available for sale at HK$2 each at 39 philatelic offices from 13 to 27 June 2005 and at the Temporary Post Office from 27 June to 1 July 2005. Serviced Souvenir Covers, at HK$5.90 each (affixed with a $1.40 definitive stamp, cancelled with the special postmark of 27 June 2005), will be available for sale at 39 Philatelic Offices and the Temporary Post Office on 27 June 2005. A Temporary Post Office will be set up at the Convention venue in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre:

  - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (27 - 30 June 2005)
  - 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (1 July 2005)

Datestamping Arrangement

A special hand-back service for official and privately made covers bearing an indication of the event and a local address will be provided on 27 June 2005. Since "The 600th Anniversary of Zheng He's Maritime Expeditions" Special Stamps will be issued on 28 June 2005, a special hand-back service will also be available on 28 June 2005. The arrangements are as follows:

The "88th Lions Clubs International Convention 2005" Souvenir Pack

To commemorate the event, the "88th Lions Clubs International Convention 2005" Host Committee (The Host Committee) will issue the "88th Lions Clubs International Convention 2005" Souvenir Pack on 27 June 2005. The Souvenir Pack will be available for sale at HK$108 at the Temporary Post Office and Lions Clubs sales booth at the Convention venue during the Convention period. It contains:

• a Heartwarming Stamps Mini-pane (Celebrations icon in local mail postage) carrying the event logo of the "88th Lions Clubs International Convention 2005" with Braille script on the image tab; and

• a serviced "88th Lions Clubs International Convention 2005" Official Souvenir Cover, affixed with a Heartwarming Stamp carrying the event logo of the "88th Lions Clubs International Convention 2005" with Braille script on the image tab, and cancelled with the special postmark.

The Host Committee will also introduce a cachet, which will be available at Lions Club's booth as well as the Temporary Post Office at the Convention venue from 27 June to 1 July 2005. Image of the Souvenir Pack is shown below:-
