Reprovisioning of Mei Foo Sun Chuen Post Office

A new Mei Foo Sun Chuen Post Office located at Shop No. 15, Ground Level, West Rail Mei Foo Station will open at 9:30 a.m. on 1 August 2005 (Monday). This office will replace the existing post office at Shops N21-22, G/F, Stage 5, 6A & 6B Nassau St., Mei Foo Sun Chuen which will close after business on 30 July 2005 (Saturday). The existing business hours and telephone number of the office will remain unchanged.

A HK$2 souvenir cover will be issued to commemorate the opening of the reprovisioned office. It will be put on sale at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Shatin Central Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Tuen Mun Central Post Office and Mei Foo Sun Chuen Post Office from 25 July to 1 August 2005.

A special hand-back service will also be provided at the new office on 1 August 2005 (Monday), whereby official and privately made unregistered covers with full postage prepaid and bearing a "First Day" indication and a local address will be accepted and impressed with the normal post office datestamp at the counter and handed back to customers. For the convenience of the philatelists, the normal office datestamp of the Mei Foo Sun Chuen Post Office will be reproduced for the provision of hand-back service at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Shatin Central Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office on 1 August 2005. No special stamp will be issued for this event.

Remarks:

  1. For 2005 Local Standing Order Service customers who have successfully ordered the "Datestamped Special Souvenir Cover - For Post Office Openings and Reprovisionings", please note that the souvenir cover of "Reprovisioning of Mei Foo Sun Chuen Post Office" will be collected together with the "Four Great Inventions of Ancient China" stamp products.
