Kong, namely the 2009 East Asian Games and The Sixth World Trade

- "2009 East Asian Games" (Issue Date: 6th November 2005)

Hong Kong has won the bid to host the 5th East Asian Games in 2009,
which have been held in Shanghai, China (1993), Pusan, Korea (1997)
and Osaka, Japan (2001) respectively. The coming East Asian Games
will be held in Macao, China later this year. Hosting the 5th East
Asian Games will promote friendship with other participating countries
and regions and raise Hong Kong's profile in the international sports
scene. To celebrate the kick-off of this event, a set of 2 postage
prepaid postcards will be issued on 6th November 2005, the date
of the closing ceremony of the 2005 Macao East Asian Games and the
handover ceremony of the 2009 East Asian Games.

Free trade is the cornerstone of the economic policy of Hong Kong.
As a founding member of the WTO, Hong Kong has been an active participant
in the World Trade Organization's (WTO) Ministerial Conferences.
The Ministerial Conference is the highest authority in the WTO structure
and takes decisions on all matters under multilateral trade agreements.
Since its inception in 1995, the WTO has held five Ministerial Conferences
in Singapore(1996), Geneva(1998), Seattle(1999), Doha(2001) and
Cancun(2003) respectively. Hong Kong, China will host the Sixth
Ministerial Conference, the Hong Kong Ministerial Conference, scheduled
to be held from 13 to 18 December 2005. Featuring Hong Kong's day
and night panorama, this set of 2 postage prepaid postcards will
portray the territory as a world city.
Remarks:
- The special postmarks for cancelling the two sets of postcards
(air mail) are being developed. The visuals of which and the arrangements
for the hand-back service will be announced later.
- Hongkong Post reserves the right to change the issue date, selling
price, product name, design and format of the above products.
- Please note that the supply of the above products is limited.
In case of over-subscription, Hongkong Post reserves the right
to allocate the order by balloting or any other way in order to
allocate the required stamp products to each ordering account.
However, the final decision will depend on the actual number of
subscription applications.
- The market value of stamp products can go down as well as up.
