Postage Prepaid Postcard Series No. 15 and No. 16 (Air Mail)
- "The Sixth World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference"

Postage Prepaid Postcard Series No. 15

Postage Prepaid Postcard Series No. 16
Free trade is the cornerstone of the economic policy of Hong Kong.
As a founding member of the WTO, Hong Kong has been an active participant
in the World Trade Organization's (WTO) Ministerial Conferences.
The Ministerial Conference is the highest authority in the WTO structure
and takes decisions on all matters under multilateral trade agreements.
Since its inception in 1995, the WTO has held five Ministerial Conferences
in Singapore(1996), Geneva(1998), Seattle(1999), Doha(2001) and
Cancun(2003) respectively. Hong Kong, China will host the Sixth
Ministerial Conference, the Hong Kong Ministerial Conference, from
13 to 18 December 2005. A set of two Postage Prepaid Postcards Series
No.15 and No.16 will be issued on 13 December 2005 (Tuesday)
to commemorate Hong Kong's hosting of this event. Featuring Hong
Kong's day and night panorama, this set of 2 postage prepaid postcards
will portray the territory as a world city.
On Postcard Series No. 15, the front side depicts large letters
"WTO" in an open style with the letters containing a
colourful collage of scenes from Hong Kong and the Chinese characters
for Hong Kong in a rainbow pattern. Postcard Series No. 16 reprises
this theme, but uses the large letters "HK" instead
and the Chinese name of the WTO in a rainbow pattern. The postcards
are designed by Mr. Clement YICK and printed by the Government Logistics
Department.
