Issue of Souvenir Cover to Commemorate Hongkong Post's Participation in the "China Philatelic Association 60th Anniversary Stamp Exhibition"

A souvenir cover will be issued on 7 January 2006 (Saturday) to commemorate Hongkong Post's participation in the "China Philatelic Association 60th Anniversary Stamp Exhibition". This Exhibition, organised by the China Philatelic Association, will be held from 7 to 14 January 2006 at the Exhibition Hall, 6/F, Sheung Wan Civic Centre, 345 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong. Hongkong Post will display the artwork of "Year of the Dog" special stamps at the exhibition venue.

The objective of the exhibition, is to celebrate its 60th anniversary of the China Philatelic Association and promote stamp collecting to the public. Admission is free. The opening hours of the exhibition are 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on 7 January 2006, 10:00 am to 7:00 p.m. from 8 to 13 January 2006 and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on 14 January 2006.

The souvenir cover at HK$2 will be available for sale at the 39 philatelic offices from 24 December 2005 to 7 January 2006. There will be no Hongkong Post sales booth at the exhibition venue.

A hand-back datestamping service will be provided at all philatelic offices on 7 January 2006 for official souvenir cover and privately-made covers bearing an indication of the event and a local address. A special postmark will also be introduced. The GPO-1 postmark, the "Philatelic Bureau" pictorial postmark and the philatelic office pictorial postmark will also be available for hand-back datestamping service at all philatelic offices during normal business hour on that day.

Also on 7 January 2006, the public hall of the Hongkong Post Philatelic Bureau on 1/F., Trade Square, 681 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon, will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for datestamping covers with the "Philatelic Bureau" pictorial postmark, the GPO-1 postmark and the special postmark.
