Postal Gallery in GPO Features New Exhibits

A fascinating new series of exhibits will be displayed in the Postal Gallery on the Ground Floor of the General Post Office from 31 July 2006 through October 2006.  As a preview of the “Hong Kong, China – Austria Joint Issue on Fireworks” new stamp issue on 22 August 2006, the exhibition features stamps, associated philatelic products and running sheets of this interesting issue.

The China National Postage Stamp Museum has been particularly helpful in providing a collection of stamps on “Joint Stamp Issues released by China Post with other postal administrations” for this exhibition.  The stamp album consists of 32 pages and will be displayed together with the stamps and associated philatelic products of the previous joint stamp issues released by Hongkong Post with other postal administrations.

To add further interest and variety for those visiting the exhibition, a set of intriguing and informative official souvenir covers on the opening and reprovisioning of post offices will be shown as well.
