New Mechanized Letter Sorting System

For the sake of the productivity enhancement, the existing mechanized letter sorting system used by Hongkong Post for years would be replaced by a new system. Unlike the current one, the new system is equipped with datestamping function for cancellation of prepaid mails. The first machine is being used on trial basis in the General Post Office and the above-mentioned datestamping function would be activated on 25 August 2008.
