A set of 6 stamps on the theme of "Hong Kong Museums Collection" will be issued on 16 May 2009 (Saturday).
Hong Kong maintains a favourable cultural environment where there exists a myriad of museums with gorgeous arrays of exhibits. Hongkong Post issues this series of "Hong Kong Museums Collection" special stamps on the theme of Chinese calligraphy and painting, presenting six selected exhibits from the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Art Museum of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, and the University Museum and Art Gallery of The University of Hong Kong. With a glimpse of the calligraphic works and paintings of celebrated Chinese artists, we can admire the beauty of culture, thereby realising the importance of heritage and art conservation.

Official First Day Covers (with an insert card) at $1 each will be put on sale at all post offices as from 28 April 2009 and at the Temporary Post Office at the exhibition venue as from 14 May 2009. This set of stamps and the associated philatelic products will be displayed at General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and Shatin Central Post Office as from 28 April 2009. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from 28 April to 6 May 2009.
Hand-back Datestamping Arrangements
A hand-back datestamping service by the office steel datestamp and the special postmark will be provided on 16 May 2009 at all post offices and the Temporary Post Office at the exhibition venue, for official and privately-made covers, bearing the first day of issue indication and a local address. They will be available, together with the "Philatelic Bureau" pictorial postmark and the philatelic office pictorial postmark, for hand-back datestamping service at all philatelic offices on that day. The "GPO-1" postmark will be available at General Post Office only.
Also on 16 May 2009, the public hall of the Hongkong Post Philatelic Bureau on 1/F., Trade Square, 681 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon, will open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for datestamping covers with the "Philatelic Bureau" pictorial postmark and the special postmark.
