Recruitment of Stamps Designers

4 February 2012
Recruitment of Stamps Designers

All designers and artists based in Hong Kong are invited to design postage stamps.

Interested designers and artists should forward the following to Hongkong Post Stamps Section, 1/F, Trade Square, 681 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon:

  1. personal information with a CV;
  2. preference in designing stamps for one or more stamp themes scheduled for 2013 (see Annex); and
  3. one of his/ her published graphic design works, or if not available, a draft design work on an A4-sized paper for an indicated preferred stamp theme in (b) above.

Interested designers should note that no remunerations will be provided for the draft designs, and the draft designs and graphic design works submitted will not be returned. If they wish, they may submit a copy of the draft design or design works instead of the original. The deadline for submission is 29 February 2012. Late submissions will not be considered.

Subsequent to a vetting process for all the submitted design works, Hongkong Post will include the suitable designers into the designer lists. After considering the design works submitted and the themes of the stamp issue, Hongkong Post may approach suitable designers for submission of initial stamp designs in due course. The initial stamp designs will be subject to endorsement by the Stamp Advisory Committee and approval by the Secretary for Home Affairs before they are finally selected for production as postage stamps. Hongkong Post does not guarantee that all designers who have expressed interest will be invited for submission of initial stamp designs. All personal data, published graphic design works and draft designs collected will be used for considering and processing the applications concerned. These will be kept in confidence, and except those finally selected for invitation for submission of initial stamp designs, will be destroyed after completion of the recruitment process.

Hongkong Post expects to approach the suitable designers for submission of initial stamp designs before July 2012. Designers who have not been approached by Hongkong Post by then should consider their applications unsuccessful.

If you are interested in knowing more details on stamp design work, you should not miss the seminar jointly organised by Hongkong Post and Hong Kong Design Centre on 18 February 2012 at 2:30pm on 7/F, Trade Square, 681 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon.
