2. Mainland Scenery Series No. 8: Mount Tianshan, Xinjiang
Issue date: 24 February 2009

Mount Tianshan is surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges and bordered by turquoise waters and blue skies. Its picturesque scenery is captured in this beautiful stamp sheetlet. The stamp captures the beauty of the Tianchi Lake (meaning heavenly lake), while Glacier No. 1 of Mount Tianshan is the main visual in the stamp sheetlet. The breathtaking scene with the words “Tianshan” (meaning heavenly mountains) in Chinese calligraphy makes this stamp sheetlet another precious collection to treasure in the mainland scenery series.

3. Stamp Sheetlet to Commemorate Hongkong Post's Participation in China 2009 World Stamp Exhibition
Issue Date: 7th April, 2009

CHINA 2009 World Stamp Exhibition will be held in Luoyang, Henan, China on 10-16 April 2009 and a stamp sheetlet will be issued on 7 April 2009 to commemorate Hongkong Post's participation in this event.

The stamp sheetlet vividly captures the artistic images of Peony and Bauhinia blakeana, the city flower of Luoyang and Hong Kong respectively. With Peony depicted in the centre of the stamp against the background of Bauhinia blakeana, it is symbolic of Hongkong Post's enthusiastic support of CHINA 2009.

4. HONG KONG 2009 - 23rd Asian International Stamp Exhibition
Original Name: "Hong Kong 2009 Stamp Exhibition"
Issue date: 14th May 2009

A stamp sheetlet will be issued on 14 May 2009 (on the opening of the Exhibition) to mark the occasion. The stamp sheetlet is novel and distinctive by using tangram as its design theme. Tangram is a kind of puzzle comprising of seven flat pieces. Players need to use their wits and creativity in coming up with endless patterns. Tangram figures in different postures are featured in the stamp sheetlet to give a sense of flexibility and versatility. Thus it suggests that the youth strive to bring out their best by seeking challenges and breakthroughs. And this is perfectly in line with HONG KONG 2009's theme concept of "Youth Philately".

In this stamp sheetlet, the stamp adopts special printing effect to turn itself into an interactive game. By placing and slightly moving the enclosed screener, one can see surprising pattern and words on the stamp.

5. Hong Kong Museums Collection
Original Name: "Hong Kong Art Collections"
Issue date: 16th May 2009

On 16 May 2009 (the third day of the Exhibition), Hongkong Post will issue a set of Special Stamps on "Hong Kong Museums Collection". This set of stamps features six precious displayed artworks on Chinese Calligraphy and Paintings, created in 1911 or before, from Hong Kong Museum of Art, Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Heritage Museum as well as the University Museum and Art Gallery, The University of Hong Kong.

9. 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China
Issue date: October 2009

Hongkong Post is issuing a set of 6 stamps to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, each of the illustrated images comes from selected entries in the Stamp Design Competition on this theme held by the Home Affairs Bureau, Radio Television Hong Kong, the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education and the Commission on Youth in mid-2008. Also, watch out for the celebratory version appeared as a stamp sheetlet with Victoria Harbour and Tiananmen as the main graphics. These are set against China’s national red colour as the background to emphasise the joy and festivities of the occasion in this eye-catching stamp sheetlet.
